About

Missy Aveytia graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Following her graduation, she accepted a position as a manufacturing engineer at Lockheed Martin Aerospace in Fort Worth Texas. She worked on the flight line and in the aircraft final finishes department for the F-35 program. As an entry level graduate she was recognized for her outstanding contributions by receiving an Aero Star award and was promoted within one year. She soon received a position for a level 3 engineer at White Sands Missile Range as a Test Engineer and worked on the PAC-3 MSE missile. She quickly climbed up the ladder as lead engineer and Test Conductor where she led numerous test missions at White Sands.

 As her ambitions rose, so did her field of interest. Missy's opened the Melissa Aveytia Insurance Agency where she expanded her entrepreneur skillset. Her financial, business management, and effective leadership skills developed where she managed her own team of insurance producers.

 Her peak for engineering never diminished. On top of managing her insurance agency, she currently holds a position as a mechanical engineer at a petroleum refinery.

 Missy's love for engineering and entrepreneurship has lead her to her next chapter. She Creates was founded to inspire and empower the current, the aspiring, and the next generation of women in STEM. With her experience and understanding she has witnessed the lack of representation of women in the field of science, engineering, technology, and math. She plans to build a STEMpire of ambitious women.
